Note on: True North

There was a contest within the Creative Criticism Group that asked for a poem that didn't rhyme, but were full of euphony - poetic techniques that make a poem "sound beautiful" over and above any significance they may have. Rhyme is but one technique, even if it is a common example.

Never one to purposely avoid a challenge, I said I wouldn't enter as my week had filled up. Then I posted a rewrite (Folding) only to realise too late that it exceeded the line length. I had about an hour to spare in the afternoon of October 4, so I took something sitting in my journal to work on, and this is it. I don't think it's perfect, but it does something I do on autopilot: Alliteration.

For the record I got an honourable mention, but as much for my skills critiquing other poems in the contest.
