Lots of edits when I got to it - words that I could have found better alternatives for. It looks a bit like free verse, but it isn't, quite. I write a bit of poetry in this style - The Wanderer is another example. There is a rhyme scheme, but it is irregular. In this case it goes A-B-A-C-D-B-C-E-D-F-G-H-F-E-H-G. You might say that the regularity is irregular. The form allows me to make notes of obvious rhymes as I go, that will fit the context and the style, without forcing me to put them in a particular place. It has some of the advantages of a strict rhyming scheme, in that the words chime through, and the advantage of not being so obvious. Or possibly I just write this style when I'm feeling lazy or when the poem can't be beaten into shape. I like to think that the lazy wandering of the rhyme matches the lazy wanderings of the subject!
