Note on: The Platypus

A piece of whimsy for the AllPoetry website.

Another poet on this site, Keith Pailthorp, wrote a parody of Joyce Kilmer's revered poem, Trees, which starts: 
"I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree."

Keith's poem starts:
"I think that I shall never feel
a thing as slimy as an eel"  

In the true spirit of "anything you can do..." I made up this little ditty of a platypus, mind blown with drugs, talking on a mobile while riding a bus to Wollongong.
