I retired in 2014. I have degrees in science and maths, with a few education subjects. I love English and write poems. I'm not a teacher, but one-on-one I can teach those considered unreachable, in literacy and numeracy. 

A group of us do this at my son's old high school, but there are too few of us, and the school can only afford a limited number of special needs teachers. This is how I give back to society. Those we can fit into our program show a 10% increase in their results over those we cannot take. What a dreadful choice to make.
