Note on: On The Sands

I largely didn't go to the beach to sun-bake, and rarely to body surf. For a while I did early morning laps of the pool or on weekends rock climbing around the rocks. In later years (post 1977 when I bought my first camera) I would walk beaches and take scenery photos.

I've never quite understood sunbathing - perhaps because I burn easily. I also don't like the heat, or sweating. And there's definitely a similarity bewteen the hordes and basking lizards (although I have used snakes as the imagery.)

Rhymes not quite consistent, not quite random, with two unrhymed lines in the second verse and a rhyme that ties the verses:

A-B-C-D-A-C-B-E-D / E-F-G-H-*-F-G-H-# (where * and # don't rhyme.)

The obvious way to make them rhyme is add a word after Egypt. Or Summer. Given that I can't think of anything that rhymes with Egypt - "he gypped" sort of works, but I can't fit that with summer beaches at the end. So I could add a rhyme for summer after Egypt, but nothing works well. Oh what a bummer!
