Note on: Mars: Watchers In The Desert

Follow the pattern - you did one, you can do another. And I did.

This one has very few changes - I swapped out "shining" and put in "sterile", because shining ship was just too cliched, even for me and allowing for how old and distinguished the form is. When I came to up load in onto my AllPoetry page, I tidied up a few more words that "could do better".

Sadly, this particular vision won't ever happen. There may be bits of water on Mars, but flowing streams and rain, and even a "desert land" probably haven't been around for about 3.5 to 4 billion years. If we get there, and set up a colony, then it will be under cover - either in domes or in airtight tunnels and caves. I'd go for a combination of both - between no atmosphere to protect from meteors and cosmic rays, and the possibility of any mars-quake being catastrophic, you'd want to do a lot of protecting of your assets.
