A contest poem: Respond in 25 words or less to the following quote

"The biggest communication problem is we do not listen to understand. We listen to reply." - Stephen R. Covey.

We have been lucky enough to have Chris Welch and his wife Thea in our lives for over 40 years. Chris in particular has a peaceful intensity about him, because he listens deeply to what you have to say and responds to you in a way that demonstrates that he has been listening and understanding. So rather than write about the problem, or people who listen so they can then add their two bits in, this was a counterpoint, a tribute to his listening skills and his friendship.

I was pleased that this won silver in that particular contest.
