Yes ,they are humour, but I have a bit of a collection that needs its own space. Limericks often tend to the bawdy, but I’ve put one that plays o n pronunciation below. Some of my poems are also “double limericks, as noted.
A young English woman named St. John
Met a red -skinned American In. John
Who made her his bride
And gave her beside
A dress with a gaudy bead Fr. John
(if you don't get it, the surname "St. John" is pronounced "Singe-un" - and the rest follow)
